Exterity signs systems integrator AVM to deliver true convergence

Exterity, a specialist in network audio-visual (AV), has today announced that it has signed AV technology specialists, Audio Visual Machines (AVM) as an authorized Exterity Systems Integrator. AVM will deliver IPTV solutions using Exterity’s entire portfolio of products including the isocket, iadaptor and triaptor. Using these products AVM will be able to deliver television and other multi-media content through a data network to public and private companies.

“AVM is set to become one of our key partners,” commented Colin Farquhar, managing director, Exterity. “Like us, they see video as an integral part of true convergence and understand that only through bringing it together with voice and data can companies make the most out of their existing network.”

Under the agreement, AVM and Exterity will work closely together to drive business forward. Exterity will provide AVM with ongoing product training and AVM has set up an Exterity demonstration facility at its City offices in Cannon Street in London.

“It is only by partnering with companies such as Exterity that AVM can bring networked-AV to schools, colleges and business,” explained Edward Cook, managing director, AVM. “Exterity’s products fit nicely with our overall strategy of delivering truly convergent solutions.”

Exterity and AVM will deliver the following AV services via a network:

  • Campus or corporate wide TV in any language
  • Relay and replay of live events such as lectures, presentations and demonstrations
  • Campus or corporate news and information channels
  • On-demand access to libraries of educational video programs or corporate information
  • Video delivered to all displays and PCs on campus or corporate networks

About Exterity

Exterity Limited was formed in 2003 to create products to deliver broadcast quality digital video over IP networks within buildings.  Exterity’s products represent a significant advance over the co-axial cable systems in common use today but are viable for deployment in large-scale video distribution systems.

Exterity’s core technology, in-socket ™, allows display appliances, such as televisions, to be connected directly to wall-mounted iSockets to get direct and easy access to all available digital media and services.

Exterity is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
