Alan Watkins joins the board of Audio Visual Machines (AVM)

AVM, has invited Alan Watkins to join the board. Alan was founder and former managing director of Cisco UK and built up Cisco’s UK operation from a standing start to over £300m revenue.

Alan is on the board of a number of public and private companies and works closely with the private equity and venture capital industry in the technology, media and telecommunications sector. He is currently chairman of AIM-listed Fujin Technology plc; Chronicle Solutions plc, a VC-backed Network Content Appliance company; Appligenics, a VC-backed software house; and Foster MacCallum, a Software Portal.

AVM is a leading audio visual systems integrator and service provider based in Cannon Street (in the City of London) and in Kingston in Surrey. AVM works with some of the UK’s leading businesses including BP, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Lloyds TSB as well as public sector bodies such as Surrey Police, Transport for London and Westminster City Council. The company’s highly qualified project managers and engineers deliver everything from a simple projector installation through to a fully integrated video conferencing suite.

AVM is backed by Octopus Investments, a leading fund manager and private equity investor into fast growing SME companies. Octopus is one of the fastest growing fund management companies in the UK with circa £200m under management
