Operations Vacancies

Our Operations team co-ordinate and project manage the Audio Visual element of our contracts. The team consists of CAD, System Designers, Installation Engineers, Project Managers and Project Engineers all working together to ensure the Clients needs and business requirements are met efficiently. Our Operations Division have a structured development program in place, that provides Engineers and Technical staff the opportunity to progress further within their career at AVM.

Sales Engineer

Location: St Margarets

The role:

  • Providing technical support to the Sales team throughout the sales process.      
  • Ensuring equipment to be purchased is correct for the job.
  • Providing basic concept drawings for quotes by the sales team.
  • Providing supporting documentation and detailed technical drawings for projects that have been sold.
  • Supporting the sales team during site meetings to confirm clients’ technical requirements and assist with specifying products.
  • Providing on-going support and design approval to the system designers (post internal handover).

Skills required:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of AV equipment.
  • An up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace and related technologies.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to apply lateral thinking to problems.
  • Understanding of all aspects of AutoCAD (preferred but not essential).

Engineering Manager

Location: St Margarets

The role:

  • Working closely with the Operations Manager and the Project Management Team to facilitate seamless functions in each department.
  • Site visits to assess quality of site delivery.
  • Implementing and monitoring internal documentation to ensure a professional delivery of services.
  • Standardising of departmental processes to further improve efficiency within the Division.
  • Implementation of new and monitoring of existing KPIs in each department.
  • Supporting the sales team where required to confirm clients’ technical requirements and assisting with specifying products.
  • Providing on-going support and design approval to the system designers (post internal handover).
  • Planning of training for internal staff.
  • Regular reporting to the Commercial Director.

Skills required:

  • Solid experience within the AV industry.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of AV & VC Equipment.
  • An up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace and related technologies.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office packages including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to apply lateral thinking to problems.
  • Fully conversant with AV System design processes.
  • Experience of AutoCAD (preferred but not essential).

Installation Engineer

Location: London, Leeds and Norfolk

The role:

  • Nationwide and international delivery and installation of clients specified solutions including video conferencing, Creston and AMX control systems
  • Working closely with the project managers and the Installation team to ensure that installations are carried out within the specified time-frame and guidelines
  •  Liaising with clients for feedback on installations (signing of handover certificates, client feedback forms, etc)
  • Provide feedback to the installation manager regarding specific installations and client issues on site
  • Ensure vans are in good working order and stocked with correct level of consumables
  • Maintain good relationship with clients

Skills required:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Technical understanding of AV and VC equipment, functionality and installation processes

  • Ability to work well in a team

Lead Installation Engineer

Location: St Margarets

The role:

  • Nationwide and international delivery and installation of clients specified solutions including VC, Creston and AMX control systems.
  • Working closely with the PMs and Installation team to ensure that installs are carried out within the specified time-frame and guidelines.
  • Liaising with clients for feedback on installations (signing of handover certificates, Client feedback forms, etc).
  • Providing feedback to the Installation Manager regarding specific installations and client issues on site.
  • Ensuring vans are in good working order and stocked with correct level of consumables.
  • Maintaining good relationship with clients.
  • Managing on site logistics including allocation of labour, ordering consumables, stock control and deliveries.
  • Monitoring installation work to ensure the highest standard is kept through all stages of a project.
  • Carrying out site surveys and providing detailed reports to the project team to identify risks and make recommendations for the project.

Skills required:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Technical understanding of AV and VC equipment, functionality and installation processes.
  • Experience working on construction sites and coordinating AV installations with main contractors and other trades.
  • ECS or equivalent trade card.

Education Project Coordinator

Location: St Margarets

Overview

The Project Coordinator will be required to assist the Senior Education Team contributing to the successful project delivery across the UK. The role will be based in the St Margarets office however with clients across the UK you may be expected to travel to attend client sites.  You will work as part of the Operations team to assist with coordinating every aspect of projects from pre-sales to sign-off ensuring that high standards of customer service are met throughout.

The role:

  • Work with the Sales and Operations Team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the clients
  • Site surveys / audits and H & S checks
  • Collating project timesheets and logging data into project cost control reports
  • Arranging flights, accommodation and general travel arrangements for the project teams
  • Liaison with the other departments to ensure the smooth running of the department logistics
  • Generating and issuing Project O & M manuals
  • To assist with managing, monitoring and controlling the project budgets
  • Coordination of project personnel and subcontractors for the duration of the projects
  • Production of project documentation, such as method statements, risk assessments, project plans, handover documents, action plans,
  • progress reports and project review summaries
  • Liaison with Account Managers, Clients, Third party suppliers and Contractors
  • Keeping track of the status of purchasing of kit

Skills required:

  • Experience of project coordination and an understanding of the project process
  • Installation and site management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, etc), preferably at least Intermediate level in Excel

Service Vacancies

AVM has one of the biggest dedicated Service Departments in the industry by both staff numbers and revenue. It consists of field engineers, onsite technicians at our managed services sites, as well as our support and helpdesk teams.The Service Division supports all brands of presentation product including preventative maintenance, emergency call-outs, loan equipment, 24 hour emergency support and onsite support from our outsourced facilities management service. We also offer dedicated operational support on client premises with managed services including VC call set up and management, additional support during busy periods, helpdesk support, service and maintenance and remote systems monitoring.

Overview
This exciting role will offer the right candidate the opportunity to use their client facing skills and audio visual knowledge in a corporate environment, providing holiday cover for AV technicians.

The role has the added challenge of involvement in reactive support as part of the field engineering team. This part will offer hands-on experience across a number of technology disciplines.

The role:

Field Service Engineer

The role:

  • Provide preventative maintenance and reactive servicing of audio visual and video conferencing systems for our clients
  • Attend nationwide call outs and resolve technical issues
  • Documenting and reporting on all call-outs performed
  • Liaising with clients
  • Working closely with the Service Helpdesk for client and job information

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of AV/VC equipment

Onsite Engineers

 

The role:

  • Ensuring that the audio-visual equipment is tested and in correct working order on a daily basis
  • The rigging, de-rigging and storage of any mobile audio-visual equipment upon completion of events & ensuring that spare equipment is maintained and stored in a tidy and accessible state
  • First line fault finding and routine maintenance on audio visual equipment
  • Communication of any defects, detailing the symptoms presented and subsequent actions taken to localise any defect
  • Brief clients in the correct operation of audio-visual equipment required for meetings
  • Testing and connection of LAN, ISDN and ADSL lines to equipment

1st LineTechnical Support

Location: St Margarets

The role:
  • Answering incoming calls within an appropriate time frame, to a high level of customer service.
  • Active participation in team communications and activities.
  • Logging calls accurately and to AVM standards, in the Call Management system.
  • Managing tickets through to resolution, ensuring all updates and relevant communications are recorded, and passed to the relevant internal support team.
  • Making outbound calls to customers and 3rd parties ensuring all the relevant information is passed on and logged.
  • Escalating to internal departments and within the SLA if the fault is outside the support scope.
  • Updating the end user and ensuring all relevant parties are kept in the loop at all times.
  • Informing key personnel within the Service Desk of any High Priority calls.

Skills required:

  • Excellent communication, drive and decision making skills.
  • A team player is essential.
  • Either Experience with Smart board, Promethean board and projectors or AV conferencing systems including Polycom and Tandberg would be beneficial.

  • Duties will include installation of Cisco (Tandberg) videoconferencing infrastructure and integration with Cisco UC environments as well as training of internal staff.

Skills required:
